1. What is MOOCs?
MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) is a kind of large-scale interactive participation and open courses offered through online platforms. It is available to anyone who is interested in learning. MOOCs are composed of small units, and contains many quizzes, interactions, discussions and feedback.
2. Status of MOOCs promotion in Taiwan Tech
- Provide support and resources: The CTLD has video and audio recording equipment that can be borrowed by Taiwan Tech instructors who plan to offer digitalized courses. Please refer to “Support-Video Recording Equipment” .
- Establish professional studios: We offers two professional recording studios in the International Building, one on IB-1221 and a studio with simple equipment within the office of CTLD Teaching Development Center on IB 205 which can be booked by instructors who wish to offer digitalized courses. Please refer to “Support-Recording Studios” .
- Formulate regulations: We ensures the teaching quality of teachers by formulating the censorship, and tracking the learning effects of students in order to make sure the effectiveness of MOOCs.․
- Provide subsidies: Teachers can apply for the subsidies to produce digital teaching materials. In addition, we also provide teaching assists.
