Teaching Practice Research Program (TPR of MoE)
The Ministry of Education MoE launched the "Teaching Practice Research Program for Teachers in Colleges and Universities" in December 2017. This programs aims to combine teaching achievements with academic career promotions, as to gradually change the distorted phenomenon of the “emphasis on research but ignoring teaching” in colleges and universities. The program offers subsidies directly to individual instructors rather than to the departments, colleges or universities. The program focuses on teaching practice research. That is, university instructors are encouraged to come up with effective teaching methods facilitating students’ learning, such as innovative teaching methods, development of teaching materials, design of teaching actions, student assessments and so forth.
Our Center provides support for teachers who are interested in applying for funding through the Teaching Practice Research Program. Every year, when the application deadline approaches, we will invite scholars and experts inside and outside Taiwan Tech to share tips for writing project plans. We will also organize several events to share experiences to foster interaction and exchange of knowledge among Taiwan Tech faculty. We provide the following services to support applications for the MoE Teaching Practice Research Program:
The CTLD acts as the NTUST contact window with the Ministry of Education. Our administrative support includes: collecting application reports, notifying about review results, liaising with the MoE on rejected applications that need revisions, applying for changes and extensions, closing projects and submitting final reports.
We organize in-school briefing sessions, achievement sharing sessions, lectures on professional growth, and information about related activities at other schools.
We offer relevant consultation and suggestions for faculty who are interested in applying for this program.
The Ministry of Education's annual program application period is from November to December each year.
